11. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT <br />The first open house was held on December 2, 2015 at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center with a <br />focus on aquatic needs /programming. Approximately 65 people attended. The second open house was <br />held on December 9, 2015 and was attended by approximately 128 people. General results from the <br />community input included: <br />Outdoor Aquatic Facilities <br />• General updates and renovation <br />• Outdoor pool <br />♦ Olympic size <br />♦ Heated water <br />♦ More lap lanes <br />♦ Extended hours <br />♦ Diving boards and slides <br />• Family area with shaded areas <br />• Kiddie Pool with area for lessons <br />• Hot tub <br />• Outdoor workout space <br />Additional Gymnasium / Indoor Space <br />• Separate room for stationary bikes / spin <br />• Work out area on first floor <br />• Better sound mitigation <br />• Indoor track for competitive use <br />• Designated stretching area <br />• Indoor archery <br />• More tennis, racquetball and pickleball courts <br />Additional Weight Room & Cardio Fitness Space <br />• More classroom spaces <br />♦ Separate room for stationary bikes / spinning (most requested) <br />♦ Aerobics / Dance / Zumba <br />♦ Yoga / Tai Chi / Barre (quiet and w/ dimmable lights) <br />• Weight room <br />♦ More space <br />♦ More free weights and hand weights <br />• Need space for a second weight rack <br />♦ More squat racks <br />• Cardio / Fitness <br />♦ More functional space <br />• More equipment /machines for peak hours, especially treadmills <br />♦ Add step master, rowing machines, punching bags <br />Senior Center Additions and Improvements <br />4 Recreation & Senior Center Expansion Feasibility Study <br />
