LCityof
Louisville
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
V. Park Sign Project. Presented by Alan Gill, Parks Project
Manager. Proposal for sign creation in four existing parks.
Discussion of materials and locations ensued. PPLAB members
agreed to prioritize signage according to amount of usage and
size of park. PPLAB members will review the existing signs and
parks without signs and will make a recommendation for four
signs on an Agenda Item at the next meeting.
VI. McCaslin Boulevard Small Area Plan Discussion. Presenter Scott
Robinson, City Planner presented three different drafts that are
on the Agenda for a study session at month end. Proposals for a
soft median on Centennial Parkway was discussed yet
maintenance of this median would be of concern. The
recommendation of the Board is to approve the idea of a soft
trail within the median on Centennial Parkway that would be
maintained by the developer. In addition, it is recommended to
create a park adjacent to McCaslin Blvd that would serve as a
safe corridor across McCaslin that connects the Mesa Open
Space to the proposed East McCaslin residential areas.
VII. Proposed Expansion of the Recreation / Senior Center and
Upgrades to Memory Square Pool. This was presented by Susan
Loo as a representative for the Recreation Center Task Force.
The current budget is 28-30 million dollars and an estimated
operations and maintenance cost of 500,000 annually. The
Recreation center is 25 years old and is having difficulty
servicing a growing population of Louisville. This proposal will
be presented to City Council on July 19 and if placed on the
ballot, will be voted for on Nov 8.
