City Council Finance Committee
Meeting Minutes
08/15/16
stated that testing down to the invoice level could be done as time permits to
maintain consistency, perhaps for various categories of expenses as an
example.
The reports and corresponding narrative can be located in the packet of the
August 15, 2016 Finance Committee Meeting.
DASHBOARD UPDATE
Finance Committee Members asked about the status of the Golf Course and
Recreation Center dashboards.
City Manager Fleming stated that he believes the data has been gathered but
that they are not yet in the proper format.
Member Stolzmann asked Finance Director Watson if he could provide the
Finance Committee the budget versus projection report he previously created for
the Committee while they are waiting on the finished dashboard. Director
Watson stated that he would do so.
Member Stolzmann stated that the Rec Track software being used by the
Recreation Center should be able to generate reports needed to complete the
dashboard, and that if it can't, perhaps the system is not sufficient.
Finance Committee Member Maloney asked City Manager Fleming if the
expectation has been communicated that the dashboards requested be
presented to the Finance Committee first. City Manager Fleming stated that it
has been conveyed and that it is a matter of devoting the necessary staff time to
meet the expectation.
NON-PROFIT GRANT PROGRAM
Finance Committee Members and staff discussed that new guidelines may need
to be created for the grant program. City Manager Fleming stated that the City
may be required to request additional information from the applicants. Member
Stolzmann stated that future program letters distributed by the City to the
applicants may need to be amended.
Mayor Muckle stated that he would like to discuss with the City Attorney any
options available to the City in changing the City Code. Mayor Muckle stated he
would like to review any options with the full City Council.
The narrative can be located in the packet of the August 15, 2016 Finance
Committee Meeting.
7
