Call to Order: <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:36 pm by Marianne Martin. Minutes taken by <br />Mark Persichetti. <br /> <br />Ia. Approval of Current-Meeting’s Agenda: <br /> Approved as-is. <br /> <br />I.c. Approval of July 20, 2016 Meeting Minutes: <br />The minutes from the July 20, 2016meeting were <br />approved as-is. <br /> <br />I.d. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br /> Justine reported on the Community-Garden <br />party, held on August 4th. 40-plus people attended, including Council members Ashley Stolzmann <br />and Susan Loo, and County Commissioner Cindy Domenico. Food was provided by local <br />businesses, and a couple of the new gardeners provided music. Crops are growing! <br /> <br />Marianne reported on a new program, Colorado Communities for Climate Action (CC4CA). It’s <br />intended to offer an opportunity for local governments to join forces on climate policy and work for <br />state and federal actions supporting and complementing local climate-protection actions. (A copy of <br />its press release is attached.) <br /> <br />I.e. Jay’s Minute: <br /> Jay reported that City Council approved a lease-purchase agreement for 199-kW <br />of electrical production capacity from the Clean Energy Collective’s (CEC) Boulder #2 array. This is <br />in addition to 400 kW previously approved. <br /> <br />I.f. Dave’s Minute: <br /> Dave discussed the City’s newly acquired electric car, a Leaf extended-range <br />(500 miles). He also reported Xcel will be upgrading City street lights to LED lights. <br /> <br /> <br />II. Coordination with other boards and commissions for sustainability issues (Dan): <br /> This topic <br />was postponed until our Sept meeting, to allow further discussion for our upcoming City-Council <br />Study Session. <br /> <br /> <br />III. Council Study Session prep: <br /> The remainder of the meeting was a general discussion of how <br />we should present our Sustainability Plan at our Study Session with City Council on August 23rd. <br />We agreed to have Jamie serve as our primary presenter.
