Davidson asked Paul Wood, Planning Director, to remail the letter sent every year to the local real
estate companies telling them where they can put "Open House" signs.

REGULAR BUSINESS

APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

Davidson appointed David Ferguson to the Historical Commission and Kyle Callahan to the Resource
Conservation Advisory Board.

DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - HOOVER STREET PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

Mayer had been contacted by the neighbors of the intersection of Hoover and Sycamore about what
they felt was a high level of danger for their children crossing the intersection. Tom Phare, Bruce
Goodman, Tom Mayer, and neighbors had a meeting at that intersection. Phare did some speed
studies and 15% of the traffic is traveling in excess of 35 m.p.h, in a posted speed limit of 25 m.p.h.
Mayer sent a memo to Council listing possible alternatives.

Richard McDonald, 248 West Sycamore Lane, Louisville, Colorado, felt the situation is an accident
waiting to happen.

Denise Brewer, 381 West Sycamore Lane, Louisville, Colorado, asked Council to consider placing
white crossing lines and yellow flashing school zone lights at that intersection. She presented Council
with a petition.

Janet Obenchain, 169 West Sycamore Lane, Louisville, Colorado, stated that her home is on the
corner of this intersection and she has three children. She spoke of the dangers of the intersection
and asked that something be done.

Laurie (INAUDIBLE), 176 West Sycamore Lane, Louisville, Colorado, spoke of the number of
children coming to the school from all over town for T-ball and Soccer practice and that something
needed to be done.

Tom Phare, Public Works Director, felt the more yellow flashing school zone lights there are, the
more disobedience and less respect for the school zones. He commented that, if Council chose to go
ahead with the yellow flashers, he wanted criteria established that he could use to apply toward
additional requests. He stated that the traffic count on these two streets was 1,000 vehicles.

The neighborhood showed a short video.

Davidson called for Council questions.

Lathrop asked about the cost of the yellow flashers.
