ENFORCEMENT GRANT CONTRACT <br /> <br />Bruce Goodman, Chief of Police, stated that the Colorado Department of Transportation had agreed <br />to fund the Louisville Police Department for a police officer to do full-time DU.I. enforcement in the <br />amount of $25,000. <br /> <br />Davidson wondered if this would any way interfere by draining the police force for D.U.I. <br />enforcement offoftraffic enforcement during the hours children are going back and forth to school. <br /> <br />Goodman stated that it would fit. They currently have an officer assigned to drunk driving <br />enforcement. What this will do is pay for that officer that they are currently using. They will assign <br />an experienced police officer to drunk driving enforcement and, with the available position, hire a new <br />police officer to fill the existing officer's slot. <br /> <br />Howard moved that Council approve Resolution No. 53, Series 1994, a resolution approving the Law <br />Enforcement Assistance Fund Contract L-18-95. Motion <br />passed by a 6 - 0 vote with Sisk being absent. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1163, SERIES 1994 - RELATING TO THE PAYMENT OF CITY <br />MONEYS PURSUANT TO A PURCHASE CONTRACT TO BUY AND SELL VACANT <br />REAL ESTATE AND CONSERVATION EASEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE AND KLUBERT AND HELEN ROSE WAREMBOURG - 1ST READING - <br />SET PUBLIC HEARING 10/18/94 <br /> <br />Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1163, Series 1994, "An ordinance relating to the payment <br />of moneys pursuant to a purchase contract to buy and sell vacant real estate and conservation <br />easement between the City of Louisville and Klubert and Helen Rose Warembourg." <br /> <br />Sharon Asti-Caranci, acting City Administrator, stated that as a part of this purchase the city will need <br />to borrow from the Conservation Trust Fund, funds from the General Fund of $1.1 million, Golf <br />Course Fund of $256,000, Capital Projects Fund of $132,000, and Internal Service Fund of $112,000 <br />to purchase the property. This ordinance indicates how this money would be paid back from the <br />Conservation Trust Fund to these various funds over a four year period, 1995 - 1998. This ordinance <br />will not prevent the city from a more rapid repayment of funds. <br /> <br />Howard wondered if the borrowing of the Golf Course money would in any way affect the running <br />of the Golf course, or the repayment of Golf Course bonds, or put the Golf Course in jeopardy <br />financially. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
