Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:09 pm. <br />II. Roll Call - <br />Board Members Present: Helen Moshak, Laura Scott Denton, Missy Davis, <br />Spencer Guthrie, Christopher Smith, Linda Smith <br />Board Members Absent: Mike Schantz, Graeme Patterson <br />City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Alan Gill, Catherine Jepson <br />III. Approval of Agenda - <br />Laura moved to approve the agenda as written. Missy seconded. The motion <br />was passed unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes - <br />Laura moved to approve the minutes as written. Spencer seconded. The motion <br />was passed unanimously. <br />V. Staff Updates - <br />A. Ember asked OSAB members to estimate their board -related volunteer hours. <br />Staff is trying to compile yearly volunteer hour totals. <br />B. Prairie dog control started today at Daughenbaugh. It will continue tomorrow <br />at Aquarius. The goal for these two properties is to maintain the designated <br />perimeters/buffers of the colonies, not to thin the populations within the colony. Next <br />week prairie dog control will continue at Davidson Mesa and Gateway. At those <br />properties prairie dogs will be removed, and donated to black -footed ferret rescue <br />associations. <br />C. The Harper Lake kiosk sign is still on track to be installed by the end of <br />October. <br />D. The Open Space maintenance position received 60 applications and closed <br />this week. <br />E. Staff met with a CSU graduate student who has been doing cheatgrass <br />removal using a new combination of herbicides. His initial studies show very high <br />control and good return of natives. It sounded like he might be interested in doing some <br />work on Davidson Mesa. <br />F. The seniors from Balfour will be taken on a nature walk at Harper Lake. <br />G. There will be an educational program on animal winter survival on Nov 1st., <br />co-sponsored with the Library. <br />H. Contractors will be doing additional weed control in October and November. <br />I.
