Franklin:

time. It's traditional in all of
the cities that I've been involved
in for the Building Inspector to
belong to the local Home Builders
Association. This is the Boulder
County Chapter. It gives a good
working relationship with the
Builders and a good forum for
information both ways.

What Annette said is right on the
mark. In the past, we have not had
an annual membership with the Home
Builders Association, because the
Boulder County Chapter and City have
not been active together. My
experience has been that Cities do
belong to the Home Builders
Association to provide the forum.
The amount of money is pretty stiff
for a government membership. It
does provide us with publications, a
magazine, contacts with the Chapters
and the Home Builders Association,
and it does give us a good insight
as to what the industry is doing and
thinking. This is a supplement to
our job.

Davidson:

If the City of Louisville has
survived for 100 years without being
a member of this association,
although $395.00 is not a lot of
money, this $395.00 will not be
spent on citizen's services if we
spend it here. The priorities of
the citizens of Louisville are for
parks, police protection, and street
repair, for which we do not have
enough money. I am not in favor of
starting the process of joining
another association. I am worried
that we are members of too many.

Davidson called for any Council comments or questions.

Hedding:

They ought to be paying us to be
there. I don't understand why the
City is paying to belong to some
organization for the kinds of things
that they are supplying. I don't
think the money is being spent

14
