LOUISVILLE ENERGY ACTION PLAN
trend across the electricity and natural gas sectors. Year over year, the residential sector has shown a
slight decrease in electricity and natural gas consumption, offset by a slight increase in the commercial
sector's electricity and natural gas consumption, as shown in Error! Reference source not found.. This
trending has occurred amid population growth and economic prosperity. It is also worth noting that this data
has not been weather normalized, so looking in particular at the natural gas consumption, the spike in 2014
is also correlated to lower than average temperatures and a resulting higher heating demand.
Figure 9. Energy Use Since 2013
Community Efficiency Program Participation
Baseline data gathered to help in developing this Energy Action Plan include historic Xcel Energy demand
side management (DSM) rebate program participation count specifically for Louisville. These data provide a
snapshot of what types of programs both residential and commercial customers are using, to what degree,
and likely channels of information. They also show opportunities for greater participation in the available
DSM programs and need for increased education and awareness across the community. Figure 10 and
Figure 11 show the DSM program participation for the baseline year, 2015.
Participant Count
700
600
500
400
300
200
100
0
1 0
Residential Program Participation Counts
21
295
1
626
75 86
24 11 47 23 1 1545
. . 12 12
— • — 42
°o s. °o as ey o . o a< r` \ ..c o r O csoo via. ,at
a` Qt° a` e o ma` o` o a c aw` • 'k- o 0
;4 ;<\,'D
`ti (2,,<N cps' .0 JP °e se e°a ,xe y`' ,°C sxea \ae .ae
re o ,ce o „ac \e oa e700 ao Q`.c Q. `a. et )Q 6t e5 ey
6a lea o\S c° o<6 o e o k°tom 4 ca;`o ae'c `'a, o'D sO i<0
o P co et ,`. e 5` aS ce
a•J \ QaJk\``e ,..o-...y<\`6oeJ se Q \oyoa e\0O 6 airec Y4 \ aooc
•e 5
o eiaO Q' co `a Ao
` cc" 0 ' so
Figure 10.
