<br />City Council/LRC <br />Special Meeting Minutes <br />June 9, 2008 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />RTD continues to negotiate with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) <br />Railway Company. RTD will be purchasing timeslots from BNSF and requesting <br />response on proposed track layout. <br /> <br />Schedule <br /> <br />Conduct noise and vibration analysis after approval from BNSF on the track <br />layout. Prepare EE schedule for release late fall. Construction schedule to begin <br />in 2010. Corridor scheduled to open late 2014/early 2015. By the year 2014 <br />there will be two tracks, two platforms and one underpass. Southbound trains <br />will board on the west side and northbound trains will board from the east side. <br /> <br />Planning Director Wood voiced his appreciation to Chris Quinn and Julie McKay <br />for their work on the project. He stressed the importance of the marketing on the <br />east side of the tracks. He stated it is critical for the City to provide land use <br />options and develop public/private partnerships. He stated it is the City's mission <br />to move forward with the redevelopment of the area. Mr. Quinn explained <br />according to present legislation, RTD funds must be used for transit purposes. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested public comment.
