Don suggested that we consider a permanent light plot and he <br />volunteered to contact Coal Creek Theatre for advice. Kathy announced <br />that wet weather carpets werE: in the building. A potential users meeting <br />was discussed briefly. Discussion turned to a potential marquee, perhaps <br />like the kiosk at the Rec Center tennis courts or perhaps something like <br />the one at the Dairy Center in Boulder. Julie suggested that might be a <br />good Eagle Scout project. Kathy reminded all that any such structure <br />would have to conform to limitations on size, lighting, etc. <br />XIII. SCFD Grant Workshop - Discussion took place earlier in the meeting. <br />XIV. Events Schedule Update - ,Julie distributed the updated events schedule <br />including attendance figures. <br />XV. Public Relations -Julie announced that currently there are 575 people <br />on the LCC e-mail list and 875 on the postal/surface mail list. Phone book <br />listings and a potential event:> line will be discussed at the next meeting. <br />XVI. Arts Center Steering Committee -Don indicated that he is still recruiting <br />members since the group is currently down to representatives from Coal <br />Creek Theatre, Louisville Chamber of Commerce, and himself. Don <br />mentioned that in a recent Boulder Daily Camera interview, Mayor Sisk <br />stated that more arts venues are needed county-wide. <br />XVI1. Sponsorships -This topic was deferred to the next meeting. <br />XVIII. Brainstorming -Since time was expiring, discussion moved directly to <br />new business. <br />X1X. New Business -Recap Completed Events <br />^ Silent Movie - 72 attended <br />^ JM Band ~ 150 <br />^ Coffeehouse ~ 40 <br />^ Student Showcase ~ 30 <br />^ Don -Dance class did not draw attendance. <br />XX. Children's Event Proposal -Carol described a proposal to offer <br />children's events on Saturdays, a total of about four events. Discussion <br />included importance of scheduling the Arts Center and potential need to <br />charge a modest amount to offset program costs. <br />XXI. Discussion Items for Next (Meeting: Next meeting will be Thursday, <br />February 21, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Louisville Recreation Center. <br />Agenda items are due by February 12, 2008. <br />XXII. Adjourn -The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM. <br />
