JOSS:

Sisk:

Joss:

City to be on hand for the 4th of
July events, which I found
excessive. I would hope that the
Fire District would re-examine that
bill that they're sending to the
City.

The information and reaction that I
got from the Fire Protection Board
was that they would be more than
happy and open to meet with
representatives of the City Council
to discuss that whole matter. Not
only this past 4th of July, but
future function and events in the
City.

Does the Fire Protection District
pay any property taxes to the
County?

NO.

Sisk:

Joss:

Sisk:

Lathrop:

Really what we're doing is we're
going to have a private company
being placed on public property
without paying any taxes.

To a degree, that's a correct
statement. This is only a
conceptual plan. The lease
agreement has not been drafted.

We're really giving A-1 Ambulance a
decided edge, by virtue of giving
them their property free and clear.
I don't like to see the taxes not
being imposed on private companies.

With the privatization of the
ambulance service, there may be some
savings to the Fire District in not
having to participate in the
ambulance service any longer. I
would like to investigate that issue
a little further.

JOSS:

As far as the cost factor, the
Administrative Assistant of the
District is in the process of
finalizing a financial review of all
of the costs of the ambulance

4
