LCityof Louisville COLORADO SINCE 1878 Memorandum To: Historical Commission From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator Date: February 22, 2017 Re: Museum Coordinator's Report The City has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for conceptual design services and cost estimates for a new Visitor Center building at the Museum. The RFP is available to view on the City website until late February. With respect to the planned Historic Structure Assessments (HSAs) on the three Museum buildings, the City selected Bret Johnson Architecture to conduct the assessments. The firm has started work on the project. Funding is being provided by the City's Historic Preservation Fund. The Louisville City Council has indicated that with all the planning for the Museum, it would like to have two Council study sessions with the Historical Commission and Museum staff in 2017. will let the Commission members know the dates when they are scheduled. The Winter 2017 issue of the Louisville Historian was mailed to members in early February. I'll give a Brown Bag program on Thursday, March 2nd (12-1 PM at the Library) to follow up on the lead article about Louisville in the 1950s. For the First Friday Art Walk on Friday, March 3rd, the Museum will look at the topic of Boulder County amateur radio. Members of a local amateur radio club will be our guests that evening and we are hoping that they might even be able to do a demonstration. Historic Preservation Commission member Chuck Thomas will be the HPC's liaison from the HPC to the Historical Commission this year. To follow up from my last report on the 2016 visitor statistics, the final tally for Museum visitors for 2016 was 4,292, which is an increase of 47% over the 2015 attendance figure of 2,913.
