All plants are to be nursery grown stock from growers located in USDA hardiness <br />zones 1,2,3 or 4. <br />2. Irrigated lawn is to be 90% bluegrass/10% ryegrass blend of sod. Loy sod 1" lower <br />than adjacent paving grade or edger except in the center of a swale where drainage <br />would be impeded. Match alt proposed sod to existing sod. <br />3. Install 2-4" tan cobble rock over geotextile fabric (Warrens' <br />terrabond 1112 or approved equal) where noted on plan; no fabric is to be visible. <br />Excavate soil where necessary to keep 1" above finished grade. Rock selection <br />to be approved by Landscape Architect prior to installation. <br />4. Soil preporation shall consist of equal parts of composted cow manure <br />at a rate of 3 cu. yds. per 1000 sq. ft. and tilled to a depth of 6"-9". <br />Fertilizers shall include: <br />a. Commercial fertilizer having an analysis of 46% available nitrogen (Urea & <br />sulphur—coated Urea only) (46-0-0) in sufficient quantity to apply at a <br />rate of 50 lbs. nitrogen per acre. <br />b. Treble phosphate (0-46-0) in sufficient quantity to apply at a rate of <br />650 lbs. phosphate per acre. <br />5. Seperote turf from shrub beds with staked 1/8"x4" steel edge. <br />6. The following are minimum distances that plant materials can be placed from <br />adjacent walls, fences, or paved areas. <br />a. Evergreen trees — 8' <br />b. Large shrubs — 4' <br />c. Medium shrubs — 2 1/2' <br />d. Groundcovers — 12" <br />7. Any plant substitutions are to be approved by Landscape Architect prior <br />to installation. <br />8. All turf to be watered using an underground automatic irrigation system. <br />All trees, shrubs, and groundcover to be watered using an underground automatic <br />drip irrigation system. <br />9. Installation of irrigation system to include shut down of system at end of <br />growing season & start up of system in spring. <br />10. Contractor to submit the irrigation plan to landscape architect for approval <br />before installation. <br />11. Contractor to guarantee all work for 1 year, after installation. <br />12. The contractor shall be solely responsible for safety in, on or about the project <br />site. Any damage to adjacent property or utilities, not designated for removal, <br />relocation or replacement, shall be repaired and/or replaced by the contractor <br />at the contractor's expense. <br />13. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining any permits or licenses required <br />for the performance of the work as applicable to the project. <br />14. The landscape architect and/or owner make no warranty as to the correctness <br />and/or completeness of the existing utility locations shown or not shown on the <br />plans. The contractor shall be responsible for field verifying the horizontal and <br />vertical location of all existing utilities including water, sewer, storm drains, gas <br />transmission lines, and other utilities above and below the surfface that may <br />affect the project. Should any discrepancy or conflict be discovered the contractor <br />shall notify the landscape architect immediately, and shall not continue construction <br />until said conflict can be resolved in writing. <br />15. The contractor shall notify all utility companies at least 48 hours prior to beginning <br />construction to verify depth and location of all utilities. <br />16. Any construction debris or mud—tracking in the public right—of—way resulting from <br />the work shall be removed immediately by the contractor. <br />17. The contractor shall provide all lights, signs, barricades, flagmen and other devices <br />necessary to provide for the public safety on and about the site. The contractor <br />shall fumish appropriate traffic control and safety measures in accordance with <br />the requirements of applicable Highways and Transportation authority. <br />18. No deciduous trees shall be planted within 5 feet or coniferous trees within 10 feet <br />of a public utility or public sidewalk. <br />19. If there is a discrepancy between plant quantities on plant legend, plan takes <br />precedence. The number of symbols shown takes precedence over the quantity <br />in the call—out, if there is a discrepency.
