That the variance, if granted, will not alter the essential character of the <br />neighborhood or district in which the property is located, nor substantially or <br />permanently impair the appropriate use or development of adjacent property. <br />The locations on the house where we are increasing the footprint are limited to single story <br />height. In this manner, the increased footprint will not contribute to the bulk of the house. <br />The 3% increase is very minor and will have no impact on adjacent properties. The increase <br />in footprint complies with all property setbacks. <br />6. That the variance, if granted, is the minimum variance that will afford relief and is the <br />least modification possible of the provisions of Title 17 of the Louisville Municipal Code <br />that is in question. <br />The requested variance would only allow for a very modest 3% increase in the lot <br />coverage, but have a massive impact on the function, livability, and street presence of the <br />house. The requested lot coverage is still well below what is allowed in the R -L zone <br />district. <br />
