City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 4, 2017 <br />Page 8 of 8 <br />Mayor Muckle felt working the boards into the work plan as needed would serve both <br />Council and the boards well. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />None. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS, COMMITTEE REPORTS, AND IDENTIFICATION OF <br />FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS <br />Councilmember Loo asked if when we discuss broadband options we may need a fiber <br />master plan If that is expensive should that be included in the question for the voters in <br />the fall or do we need to budget such a plan. City Manager Fleming stated yes, we will <br />need it in the budget in 2018 if Council wants to pursue this. <br />Councilmember Maloney noted money will be needed for some study of the technology <br />options for Internet service to homes and businesses, but it may not be fiber. <br />Councilmember Stolzmann noted the Finance Committee is working on a standard <br />definitions project for the various items that are taxed to make it easier for businesses to <br />submit their taxes across different communities. This issue will be coming before <br />Council for consideration <br />City Manager Fleming noted Commuting Solutions has asked communities on US 36 to <br />consider allowing electric bicycles (e -bikes) on the US 36 bike trail. If Council is <br />Interested in pursuing this, staff will bnng an ordinance for Council consideration. <br />Council agreed they would like to see it.
