Staff had no information <br />relative to proposed service in Louisville. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Davidson reported on an email from the Louisville Pirates, a Jeffco baseball team <br />sponsored by the City, who qualified for a National Championship in Colorado Springs. <br />They requested a sponsorship contribution from the City Council. <br /> <br />Council discussion relative to the requested sponsorship: Van Pelt asked for the amount <br />of funding available. Finance Director Laus stated in the past the City has contributed <br />before in the amount of $1,000. Sisk suggested the Council contribute $500.00 to the <br />Louisville baseball team. Levihn asked for a policy or guideline for Council making <br />contribution. Marsella suggested the City be consistent with their contributions, and <br />noted Monarch High School is also doing fund raising. Keany asked if any other teams <br />requests contributions, should Council give them the same consideration. <br /> <br />MOTION: Sisk moved that Council approve a $500.00 contribution to the sponsorship <br />of the Louisville Pirates Baseball team, seconded by Davidson. Roll call vote was taken. <br />The motion passed by a 5-1 vote. Keany voted no. Brown absent. <br /> <br />Davidson reported some of the Mayors along the Turnpike and County Commissioners <br />are going to Washington, D.C. to lobby for funds for US 36. They are scheduled to leave <br />on July 9th and coming back the July 11 th. <br /> <br />Keany invited all citizens to attend the 4th of July celebration at Memory Square. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />Brown absent. <br /> <br />i~!ancy Var~a, City Clerk <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br />Sisk moved for adjournment (8:31 p.m.), seconded by Levihn.
