SPOT ELEVATIONS: SPOT ELEVATIONS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER CONTOURS AND SLOPES SHOWN. <br />CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF SPOT ELEVATIONS WHICH DO NOT APPEAR TO BE <br />CONSISTENT WITH THE CONTOURS AND SLOPES. CURB AND GUTTER SPOT ELEVATIONS REFER TO FLOW <br />LINE. <br />5. COMPACTION OF STRUCTURAL FILL: MECHANICALLY COMPACT ALL STRUCTURAL FILL MATERIAL TO A <br />MINIMUM DRY DENSITY OF 90% AS DETERMINED BY ASTM D698 SPECIFICATION. STRUCTURAL FILL WHICH <br />IS SCHEDULED TO SUPPORT SLABS SHOULD BE COMPACTED TO 95% OF MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY. <br />COMPACTION BY PONDING OR SATURATION WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. <br />STRUCTURAL FILL MATERIALS MAY NEED TO BE MOISTURE CONDITIONED IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE PROPER <br />COMPACTION. <br />6. PAVEMENT SUBGRADE PREPARATION: TOPSOIL, ORGANIC MATERIALS AND DEBRIS SHOULD BE STRIPPED <br />FROM ALL AREAS TO BE PAVED. <br />SUBGRADE SOILS SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO PROPER GRADE FOR THE SELECTED PAVEMENT SECTION. <br />FILL MATERIALS SHALL UTILIZE ONSITE MATERIALS, IF AVAILABLE, AND SHOULD HAVE A CLASSIFICATION <br />EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN THE SUBGRADE SOILS ON WHICH THE PAVEMENT DESIGN WAS BASED <br />(REFERENCE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT). <br />SUBGRADE MATERIALS SHOULD BE SCARIFIED TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF 6 -INCHES. <br />SUBGRADE MATERIALS SHOULD BE COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM OF 95% OF MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY AS <br />DETERMINED BY ASTM D698 SPECIFICATION. <br />SUBGRADE MATERIALS MAY NEED TO BE MOISTURE CONDITIONED IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE PROPER <br />COMPACTION. <br />AGGREGATE BASE COURSE, IF UTILIZED, SHALL BE COMPACTED A MINIMUM OF 95% OF MAXIMUM DRY <br />DENSITY AS DETERMINED BY THE -MODIFIED MOISTURE/DENSITY TEST, ASTM 01557 SPECIFICATION. <br />7. SITE EARTHWORK BALANCE: SITE GRADING DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO BALANCE CUT AND FILL. <br />CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IMPORT OF ALL FILL MATERIALS, AS REQUIRED, AND DISPOSAL <br />OF ALL EXCESS EXCAVATION MATERIALS AS MAY BE REQUIRED. <br />8. FINE GRADING: AREAS NOT SCHEDULED FOR PAVEMENT OR OTHER STRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENTS SHALL <br />BE FINE GRADED TO THE GRADES AND LINES INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND AS REQUIRED FOR <br />PROPER DRAINAGE. <br />UPON COMPLETION OF FINE GRADING ALL DEBRIS, ROCKS AND DIRT CLUMPS GREATER THAN 2 -INCHES <br />IN DIAMETER SHALL BE REMOVED AND DISPOSED OF OFF SITE. <br />9.
