Both were a rousing
success. Thanks to your participation, Senior needs such as
Lifelines, Activity Assistance and Emergency Assistance will
continue to be funded to the benefit of needy seniors.
The Advisory Board is well on its way in the pursuit of
"Creating A Vibrant Community in Which We All Age Well",
the Seniors of Louisville Advisory Boards' new Mission
Statement. We have also adopted a vision statement: To
provide for the welfare of seniors through programs and
services of the Louisville Senior Center by advising staff and
participating in focus groups; thereby building a link
between the community of seniors, advisory board and staff
in addressing basic needs, maximizing independence,
promoting social and civic engagement and optimizing
physical and mental health and well-being.
In an effort to provide for the welfare of seniors, two focus
groups, Social And Civic Engagement and Physical & Mental
Health & Well-Being have each identified a need, created a
plan to meet that need and are in the process of advising staff
of additional support or funds to complete the task. Thank
you to the many seniors who have volunteered to join these
groups and are working for the welfare of seniors. We are on
our way.
You are the vital link between seniors, staff and the advisory
board. We encourage and welcome more of you to join us.
Please attend one of the next Focus Group meetings to start
getting involved.....
Basic Needs:
Housing Friday, July i8, i:oopm
Social & Civic Engagement:
Programs Friday, June i,3, is oopm
Physical & Mental Health & Well-Being
Physical Activity Tuesday, Aug 5 is oopm
Sincerely,
Connie Howes, Chair
www.LouisuilleSeniorSeruices.com Page 2 (303) 666-7400
