City of Louisville Citizen Su <br />August 2008 <br />When compared to 2004 results, most aspects of quality of life remained stable in 2008. A higher <br />proportion of respondents in 2008 than in 2004 rated Louisville as a place to retire as "excellent" or <br />"good" (79% in 2008 versus 69% in 2004). F:atings for the other aspects of quality of life were <br />similar in 2004. These <br />questions were not asked in 1999. <br />Responses to aspects of quality of life were oompared by respondent characteristics. Older residents <br />(55+) were more likely to give favorable ratings to the city as a place to work than were their <br />younger counterparts. Female respondents gave more positive ratings to Louisville as a place to <br />retire than did male respondents. Residents u~ho were registered to vote were more likely to rate <br />Louisville as a place to raise children as "exce:llent" or "good" than were those not registered to <br />vote.
