Davidson:

Grlffiths:

Davidson:

this mechanism. Enough is enough.

In taking a quick reading of this
letter from this engineering firm, I
would never hire them to do a water
rate study. They compare Louisville
rates with the City of Denver water
rates and even a fool knows that the
price of things have gone up since
the City of Denver bought their
water. If we had bought our water
in 1950, we could afford to charge
rates like they do too. What we're
charging for our water tap is
probably too low. Also, on page 4,
where we're discussing 16.16.060,
the City attorney has presented us
with a change of our intent. Our
intent was to change the open space
dedication only on residential and
not on commercial. Susan, what
would you propose to correct that?

I will gladly draft an amendment to
the ordinance that I provided to
Council tonight, which would revise
the language to indicate that the
12% dedication requirement would
remain the same for any non-
residential tracts, but would
increase to 15% for tracts which are
being subdivided in whole or in part
for residential purposes. That
amendment is before you and calls
for some revision as to 16.16.060,
paragraphs B1, 2, and 5, all to
ensure that the increase from 12% to
15% is solely for tracts that are
subdivided for residential purposes.

The ordinance speaks of dedicating
land within the subdivision. In
cases of commercial land, etc., I
don't think the City is ever going
to acquire enough land to have a
regional park, we might need
dedications in a different area. I
wonder if the ordinance, in this
section, shouldn't have some words
allowing for requiring the
dedication; but perhaps allowing the
dedication outside of the

17
