This
extension is needed because building permit activity continues to be at an extremely
high volume (11% higher than last year, 26% higher than 2014, and 43% higher than
2011) and extending the position will help ensure we provide high quality customer
service and review permits in a timely manner. This position is also needed through the
full implementation of IAN/EnerGov, including Citizen Self Service and eReview
modules of the software. Because of staff turnover, we are behind schedule on full
implementation of the software. We are currently arranging additional training with
EnerGov implementers to bring current staff up to date and expect to start working on
Citizen Self Service this year.
CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
5
