RESOLUTION NO. 32 <br />SERIES 2017 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE TOWN OF SUPERIOR TO DEVELOP EASTERN NORTH -SOUTH CORRIDOR <br />TRANSPORTATION COST IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Supenor ("Town") and the City of Louisville ("City") are <br />undertaking a study to develop prelummary cost estimates for eastern north -south corridor <br />transportation improvements to apply for DRCOG Transportation Improvements Fundmg <br />(hereinafter "the Project"), and <br />WHEREAS, an intergovernmental agreement has been proposed between the City and <br />Town to delineate the shared costs and scope of work for the Project, and <br />WHEREAS, providing improved transportation connections to between the Town's and <br />the City's eastern north -south transportation corndor m the form of a badge across U S Highway <br />36 from the Supenor Town Center connecting to Campus Drive in the City and related <br />connections and intersection improvements to connect to 96th Street or Tape Dnve, and <br />improvements to 88th Street Bndge and necessary improvements from Rock Creek Parkway to <br />Dillon Road will reduce traffic congestion, provide convenience to the traveling public and <br />improve access to other destinations and employment centers such as Avista Hospital and the <br />Monarch K-8 and High School campus, and <br />WHEREAS, the City is authonzed by law, mcludmg but not limited to C R.S § 29-1-203, <br />to enter into such an intergovernmental agreement, and the City Council finds and determines that <br />execution of the proposed agreement is in the best mterest of the City and its citizens, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1 The City Council hereby approves that certain Intergovernmental Agreement <br />between the City of Louisville and the Town of Superior for the Project <br />2 The Mayor is hereby authonzed to execute the IGA on behalf of the City Council of <br />the City of Louisville, except that the Mayor is hereby further authorized to negotiate and approve <br />such revisions to the IGA as the Mayor determines are necessary or desirable for the protection of <br />the City, so long as the essential terms and conditions of the IGA are not altered <br />3 The Mayor, City Manager and City Staff are hereby authonzed and directed to do all <br />things necessary on behalf of the City to perform the obligations of the City under the IGA, <br />mcluding without limitation that the Mayor or City Manager are authorized to execute and deliver <br />any access, construction and grading easement required by the IGA and that the City Manager and <br />City Staff are authonzed to execute and deliver any other any documents necessary m connection <br />with the performance of the City's obligations under the IGA <br />Resolution No 32, Series 2017 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
