RESOLUTION NO. 37 <br />SERIES 2017 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A HISTORIC PRESERVATION FUND GRANT TO RESTORE <br />THE NORTH WALL OF THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS AND CONSTRUCT A NEW POOL <br />HOUSE AT 801 GRANT AVENUE <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville City Council a preservation and <br />restoration grant application and new construction grant application for the Center for the Arts, <br />a histonc commercial structure located at 801 Grant Avenue, on property legally described as <br />Lot 5-11, Block 5, Pleasant Hill Addition & Vacated Grant Street Adjacent, Town of Louisville, <br />City of Louisville, State of Colorado, and <br />WHEREAS, the Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission have <br />reviewed the applications and found them to be in compliance with Chapter 3.20 605.D of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code, and <br />WHEREAS, the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission has held a properly noticed <br />public heanng on the proposed grant applications and has recommended the request be <br />forwarded to the Louisville City Council with a recommendation of approval, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the proposed preservation and <br />restoration grant application and new construction grant application and the Commission's <br />recommendation and report, and has held a properly noticed public heanng on the application, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the requests comply with the standards set by City Council in Resolution <br />No 2, Series 2012, and <br />WHEREAS, the work being requested for the Louisville Center for the Arts is found to <br />be an extraordinary circumstance and eligible for funding beyond the maximum grant amounts <br />as outlined in City Council Resolution No 2, Series 2012, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds the proposed improvements will assist in the <br />preservation of the Center for the Arts, a local historic landmark and further the goal of <br />preserving the historic character of Old Town Louisville. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1 The City Council hereby approves the preservation and restoration grant <br />application for work on the Center for the Arts located at 801 Grant Street, subject to the <br />following. <br />1 Approved items are those in the proposed scope of work presented to City <br />Council which are identified as the preservation and restoration grant — north <br />Resolution No 37, Senes 2017 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
