Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />May 8, 2017 <br />Page 2of4 <br />Reports of Commission <br />Chair Fisher noticed work on underpass. Economic Development Director DeJong said <br />the project is slated for early July for completion of some apartments. Commercial will be <br />completed around September 1st <br />Commissioner Menaker would like to be sure a plaque is at the gateway. <br />DeJong and Justin McClure will discuss more funding for DELO lofts. They will be ready <br />next month. <br />Business Matters of Commission <br />Parking Analysis RFP <br />DeJong incorporated comments into the RFP from last meeting. <br />DeJong said City Council wants to see the RFP. It is scheduled for the June 13th <br />meeting. LRC members are encouraged to be there. Commissioner Menaker is <br />concerned with anything referencing a train, getting regional funding for regional <br />solutions and if we get funding from DRCOG will it come with strings. Prefers it not go to <br />regional entity for funding. <br />DRCOG funding decision will be made in September or October. RFP will be released <br />in 2nd quarter of 2018. An IGA would then need to be completed. <br />Lots of cars full of little leaguers at sports complex. Parking lot is very busy. This <br />dynamic may or may not change with the completion of the underpass. <br />Randy Caranci is a strong proponent of underpass on Hwy 42. Safety is an issue. <br />Commissioner Gorsevski asked if an underpass could be folded into improvements for <br />Hwy 42. Deputy City Manager Balser said CDOT funding is coming for pedestrian <br />improvements at Short and 42. <br />Commissioner Tofte asked how often CDOT evaluates the speed on Hwy 42. <br />Chair Fisher suggested an update on Hwy 42 at the next meeting. <br />Commissioner Menaker said the time delays related to the RFP are more than people <br />would hope for. <br />Deputy City Manager Balser said to make sure map for scope includes sports complex. <br />Commissioner Gorsevski will provide comments related to DeJong on RFP. DeJong will <br />forward final RFP to Chair Fisher. <br />
