Planning Commission Meeting Minutes May 11, 2017 Page 18 of 18 implementing the codes, policies, and what we think is the intent of the code. It is helpful for Staff and the PC to evaluate projects after they are built. They may look very different from what was presented on paper. Hopefully, this will lead to improvements over time. We are getting ready to work on new design guidelines. This could take a couple of different paths. We can get together for a public meeting, get a van, and visit the projects to be scored. An alternative is to create the scoring sheet, ask the PC to visit sites individually, and report back. We envision six different sites, with some industrial, mixed use, commercial, and residential. We'd like to do this every year and have the same scoring sheets. Moline says I think it's a great idea. I would get more out of it if done as a group. O'Connell says I am strongly on board for doing it individually. Pritchard says I think it is a great idea. I have concerns about being a public meeting. I think we should look at overflow dates. Zuccaro says it would be a noticed public meeting. Hsu says three hours could be long. I think a packet listing what was proposed and approved so we have something to compare to would be helpful. For those going individually, a recording of the group tour would be good so questions and answers can be heard. I may be an individual person. Pritchard says I'd like to know if there were variann the property. Signs, lighting, and parking issues could be listed. Sheets says I like the idea. I like the suggestionoverflow night; scheduling it at 5:00 pm so we have daylight would be helpful.
