This is because the site is zoned R -E and the building is a municipal
facility.
Project Description
The project includes the renovation and addition to the existing Recreation/Senior Center and
associated site improvements, including an expansive outdoor patio space. The total SF is
approximately 102,000 SF. The site is located at 900 Via Appia Way in Louisville, Colorado. It
is part of a larger recreational complex that includes tennis courts, an inline hockey rink, and
skate park. The Arboretum is also adjacent to the site.
While the building will not be registered with the USGBC LEED program, the goal is to be
equivalent to LEED Gold. Currently the design team is preparing options for Owner review and
approval.
The First Level includes:
• Large -volume spaces such as the renovation Lobby/Circulation space, Gymnasium, Turf
Gymnasium, Natatorium, and Fitness space.
• Other spaces: Child Watch, Indoor Playground, Preschool, Pool Party Rooms, Locker
Rooms, Recreation and Senior Center Administrative Offices, Sauna and Steam Rooms,
Senior Lounge, Senior Games Room, Catering Kitchen, Community Rooms
• Associated support spaces.
• Stairs and elevators to upper level spaces.
475 Lincoln Street, Suite 100 I Denver, CO 80203
tel 303 308 0200 I toll 866 535 5653
web sinkcombs.com
32
DON DETHLEFS, AIA
ANDY BARNARD, AIA, LEED AP
CHRIS KASTELIC, AIA, LEED AP
MICHAEL HARVEY, AIA
ERNEST JOYNER, AIA, LEED AP
JENNIFER STEPHENS
