Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />May 3, 2017 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />approved the proposed Pioneer Award procedures with a few changes. The <br />changes were to include organizations as possible recipients of the award and <br />change the title of Museum Director to Coordinator in the wording. It was <br />decided to not have a formal subcommittee this year, but to begin to follow the <br />procedures in 2018. <br />X. Taste of Louisville — Saturday, June 3rd <br />A. Pizzelle making in front of the Museum: Both Paula and Betty will not be able to <br />make pizzelles this year, but will look to see if they can find someone else to do it. <br />B. Signups — Commission members to help with visitors, 10-12:30 or 12:30-3: <br />Dave and Keith volunteered to help with visitors during the Taste of Louisville. <br />XI. Labor Day Parade Planning with Foundation and others (Labor Day is Sept. 4th): The <br />Commission discussed possible ideas for the parade with collaboration with the Foundation. <br />The discussion is expected to be continued at the next Foundation meeting. <br />XII. Discussion & Updates from March meeting: <br />A. Role of the Historical Commission regarding historic resources other than <br />the Museum, and update on letter that the Commission wrote to City <br />Council after the March meeting: There was no feedback on the letter Dave <br />presented to the City Council at its meeting in March. <br />B. Commission's interest in having reports written for structures being <br />demolished to be made publicly available on the Museum website after the <br />demolition process is complete, due to the history contained in the reports: <br />Bridget reported on discussions that she had on this topic with the Planning <br />Dept. staff. The Commission reiterated its support for the history reports that <br />Bridget writes for the Planning Dept. to be made publicly accessible on the <br />Museum website, and Bridget said that she will work on this project. Jay <br />suggested that the reports be accessible on the Museum website no matter <br />what the original purpose of the report was. <br />XIII. Chairperson's Report: There was no report. <br />XIV.
