Updated tables with umbrellas and movable seating are proposed for the sun deck, as well as movable
chaise lounges.
Irrigation
A new irrigation tap separate from the building's domestic water tap will be provided per City requirements.
Much of the existing mainline will be replaced to accommodate the extensive site grading and
reconfiguration. Trees and shrubs will receive permanent, underground drip irrigation. New native grass
areas will receive temporary, above -ground irrigation for establishment. After the native grass is
established, the above -ground irrigation will be removed. Two small areas of turfgrass sod are proposed,
and will receive permanent spray irrigation. Kentucky bluegrass sod is proposed for a small area west of the
new playground to make it inviting and to withstand foot traffic. A xeric sod blend is proposed for a strip on
the west side between the retaining wall and the building. This sod blend includes buffalo grass, blue grama
grass, and two short -growing cool -season grasses. It requires very little water and can be left unmown for
an ornamental effect. No foot traffic is anticipated in this location.
Prepared by:
DESIGN
CONCEPTS
Bill Gohelf, PLA, ASLA, LEED AP
Sr. Project Manager
billg@dcla.net
July 25, 2017
15
