I 121 Cityoy im Louisville
PARKS & RECREATION
Memorandum
To: Joe Stevens, Parks & Recreation Department Director
From: Allan Gill, PLA, and Park's Project Manager
Date: August 3, 2017
Re: Heritage Park Playground Renovation — Open House Review
Summary:
The Heritage Park Playground is an older playground and replacement parts for the play equipment are
no longer available. The playground has access issues and does not meet Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) requirements. The goal of the renovation project is to replace the old and outdated
playground with a new playground that is inviting, fun and meets or exceeds ADA requirements, and
creates a positive first impression of Louisville's Parks.
City Council approved the Heritage Park Playground Renovation project at their July 18 meeting and
the project has been awarded to Designscapes Colorado as the contractor and Robert Peccia &
Associates as the landscape architect. The budget for the project is $280,000 which includes design,
construction and all other aspects of the project.
An open house was scheduled for Thursday August 27 for neighbors and City residents. The boards
included in your packet were presented to gather ideas and generate discussion about the future park
and what it may look like.
The design team would like to discuss any comments or concerns the board may have.
4
