and staff will get with developers. RMCS will do temporary irrigation and hope to
only mow if homeowners request it. Suggestions from board: Native grasses, no
cottonwood trees, check into sound on other side of tracks with the berm in
place.
Gateway Open Space
Ember noted this property is on the corner of South Boulder Road and McCaslin.
Jean Morgan is concerned that we are not controlling weeds and prairie dogs
well enough. We have fumigated there before and the developer has done some
fumigation. Unfortunately, this area is surrounded by colonies and any mitigation
done now will be useless. Once development is in place this would be the best
time to mitigate. Larry moved and Spencer seconded to write a letter to the
developer. Tom will write the letter to address the prairie dogs on the
developer's site that are affecting Gateway property.
Boulder County Wish List
We reviewed last year's list. Truman suggested putting our top tier properties
excluding Conoco Phillips on the list. Linda moved to include our top tier
potential open space properties as listed, making one Conoco property instead of
two. Larry seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Callahan was denied last
year because it doesn't appear regional. Ember will draw it up again, but in a
manner that shows it is regional and makes connections and noting it includes
the railroad underpass. Tom would like the six community suggested regional
trails that are connectors outside of Louisville. Number two trail is approved, but
not a county priority. The number 3 is the South Boulder Road underpass to
Harney Lastoka and would be regional. The final wish list was drawn up as
follows:
1. Harney-Lastoka/South Boulder Road Crossing/Underpass
2. Callahan Trail connection to Waneka Lake and Hecla Lake
3. North end to Spanish Hills following ditch.
4. North Callahan
5. Trail Segment Connecting Coal Creek Trail with Rock Creek Trail and Rock
Creek Farm.
6. Davidson Mesa to Marshall Mesa.
7. West of Golf course follow Goodhue Ditch along Coal Creek to Stearns Lake.
Linda moved to make this our official wish list to give to staff. Larry seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
OSAB Suggestions Regarding Comprehensive Plan Revisions
Tom has some notes from Chapter 3 page 335. Noted a contradiction regarding
wildlife, but high importance at Mayhoffer. Any suggestions that OSAB
individuals have should go to Ember and onto Sean McCartney. Also, note that
Sun/STK should be changed to Conoco Phillips. Bret has suggestions for the
opportunity areas handout that has been given at open houses.
