Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 21, 2008 <br />Page 7 of 7 <br />• Preservation Awards -Muth reminded members that the awards will be <br />presented at the August 5 City Council Meeting <br />• Preservation Sales Tax Ballot Question -Muth reported that the City Council is <br />scheduled to set the ballot title at the August 5 meeting. <br />Lewis noted that it is going to require a lot of community support to pass the <br />ballot issue. <br />• 836 & 844 Main Street - No update <br />• 1024 LaFarge Avenue - No update <br />• Ms. Downer's Cabins <br />Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce Street, stated that she is still working on a location for <br />the cabins. She noted that she has spoken to both the Mayor and City Manager <br />and each stated that this is not a priority for the City at this time. She is still <br />looking for suggestions on where they might be located. txr~# <br />Lewis asked Morgan if there were no other alternatives, would she be amenable <br />to using them as the tool sheds on the Lastoka Property. <br />Morgan responded that she didn't think that tool sheds would not be an <br />honorable use of the cabins. <br />McMenamin asked if there were no other alternatives would it be better than <br />demolition. <br />Morgan answered she didn't want to consider it unless all other options had been <br />eliminated. <br />Items from Staff -None <br />Items from Commission:. Members <br />• Koertje stated he has no new information on a possible joint meeting with Historic <br />Boulder. <br />• Koertje reported on his trip to the National Association of Preservation Commission <br />in New Orleans. He stated that it was a great experience and he learned that the <br />issues in Louisville are very similar to what other communities across the county are <br />facing. <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />• Public Hearing - 824 South Place <br />• Subcommittee Updates <br />Adjourn -The meeting adjourned at 9:40 PM. <br />
