RESOLUTION N0.31 <br />.'iERIES 2008 <br />A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR NOVEMBER 4, <br />2008, TO BE CONDUCTED AS A COORDINATED ELECTION, FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF SUBMITTII\fG A TABOR BALLOT ISSUE TO THE <br />REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interests of the City of Louisville to call a <br />special election for November 4, 2008, to be conducted as a coordinated election, for the purpose of <br />referring to the registered electors of the City a TABOR ballot issue concerning a proposed historic <br />preservation sales tax; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 6-3 of the Home Rule Charter, the City Council may call a <br />special election by resolution adopted not less than 60 days prior to the date of the election. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. A special election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 as <br />part of a coordinated election. <br />Section 2. The purpose of the special election will be to submit to the registered electors of <br />the City a TABOR ballot issue concerning a proposed historic preservation sales tax. The City Council <br />may submit such TABOR ballot issue to appear on the ballot of the special municipal election by the <br />adoption of appropriate resolution or ordinance as required by law. <br />Section 3. The officers and employees of the City are hereby authorized and directed to take all <br />necessary and appropriate actions to effectuate the provisions of this Resolution in accordance with Colorado <br />law. <br />Section 4. Pursuant to C.R.S. Section 31-10-102.7, the Citywill utilize the requirements and <br />procedures of the Uniform Election Code of 1!92, articles 1 to 13 of title 1, C.R.S., as amended, in lieu of <br />the Colorado Municipal Election Code of 196:5, article 10 of title 31, C.R.S., as amended, with respect to <br />the special municipal election to be held on November 4, 2008, and such election shall be conducted as <br />part of the coordinated general election. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this ~`l day o <br />Eleccres <br />
