City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 4, 2008 <br />Page 6 of 8 <br />JANUARY ECONOMIC DE\/ELOPMENT BRIEFING AND SHOP LOUISVILLE <br />CAMPAIGN UPDATE -BECKY HOGAN EDge CONSULTING <br />Becky Hogan, 56 Steele Street, Denver, CO updated Council on the City's <br />economic development in January. BRaD adopted the 2008 Work Plan on <br />February 4th. McKesson will vacate their offices in April of 2008 but wilt continue <br />to lease the space through October. BRaD will target the Highway 42 and South <br />Boulder Road businesses and emerging industry businesses for retention and <br />development visits. She introduced Mark Zaremba and John Skinner, ZVC, Inc., <br />managers and facilitators of tlhe Shop Louisville Campaign. <br />John Skinner ZVC, Inc. thanked Council for funding the Shop Louisville <br />Campaign and gave a brief ulpdate on activities. Their efforts will be <br />concentrating on the following: Web Site more useful to Louisville citizens; more <br />comprehensive merchant direectory; making the directory helpful to the merchants <br />through the Shop Louisville program; make Louisville residents more aware of <br />the benefits of shopping locally; and to build a strong collaboration with the <br />Downtown Business Associai~ion and the Louisville Chamber of Commerce. <br />Mark Zaremba, ZVC, Inc also thanked Council for supporting the Shop Louisville <br />Campaign and the BRaD committee for their commitment. He stated the Shop <br />Louisville Campaign will be rolled out in March. <br />Councilor Muckle asked how many hits the Web Site gets per month. Mr. Skinner <br />reported the BRaD Web Site received 600 hits in the month of January. <br />Ms. Hogan stated the International Shopping Center Conference is in May and <br />the City is making preparations to attend. She reported the StorageTek property <br />has been sold for $55 million dollars, but the buyer has not been identified. <br />ORDINANCE No. 1530, SERIES 2008 - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN <br />EXCHANGE WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />OF RIGHT-OF-WAY PARCELS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF THE SOUTH 96T" :>TREET/STATE HIGHWAY 42 CONNECTION <br />PROJECT - 2"d Reading -Public Hearing <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella requested a City Attorney introduction. <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1530, Series 2008. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Marsella opened the public hearing and requested a Staff <br />presentation. <br />Public Works Director Phare explained the roadway alignment for State Highway <br />42 was changed as part of the City's SH 42 / 96th Street Connection Project.
