All in favor. <br />RESOLUTION No. 13, SERIES 2008 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING A <br />SPECIAL REVIEW USE (SRU) TO AUTHORIZE THE RELOCATION OF <br />BRIDGE SCHOOL FROM 6'717 SOUTH BOULDER ROAD (IN BOULDER) TO <br />833 WEST SOU1fH BOULDER ROAD (IN LOUISVILLE) <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />Planning Director Wood explained the applicant, Richard Weeks, representing <br />Bridge School, has the subject property under contract from the current owner. <br />They propose to relocate the existing school, known as Bridge School, from <br />Boulder to 833 W South Boulder Road in Louisville. The Bridge School is a <br />private school and requires a Special Review Use. The applicant would occupy <br />approximately 20,000 SF of a~n existing 120,000 SF building, which previously <br />housed both Neodata and EC)S businesses. The applicant will not modify the <br />exterior portions of the building or site, except for the placement of a wall sign. <br />The school (grades 6-12) is acollege-preparatory school, currently serving 75 <br />students. Staffing consists of 4 administrators and 10 teachers. It is their intent <br />to expand to 150 students. This would permit class sizes in the range of 10 <br />students per teacher. <br />Parking requirements for this use is 1.5 parking spaces per teacher, 1 parking <br />space per administrative stafi~ and 1 parking space for every three students. <br />Based on the allocation, the use carried a parking requirement of 44 total parking <br />spaces. With respect to their expansion plans, their parking needs would total 50 <br />spaces. The applicant will encourage RTD transit and carpooling and will install <br />bike racks to accommodate 16 bicycles. The drop-off time for the school is <br />between 7:45 and 8:00 a.m. Afternoon pick-up is 3:30 p.m. Students <br />participating in sports generally leave at 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. The site currently has <br />two access points on South Boulder Road to facilitate good on-site circulation. <br />The Planning Commission hE:ld a public hearing on March 13, 2008 and <br />forwarded a resolution of support with three conditions. 1) This special review <br />use is for the Bridge School only. 2) The maximum square footage permitted for <br />this use is 20,000, with 100 students and 15 full time staff members. 3) An area <br />must be created for refuse grid recycling materials for the proposed school use. <br />This area is to be enclosed aind screened from public view. <br />
