Approval of License Agreement with Louisville Farmer's Market, <br />LLC for Use of Steinbaugh Pavilion (824 Front Street) and <br />Surrounding Area for a Farmer's Market <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Doug Grinbergs, 530 W. Sycamore Circle, Louisville, CO reported on a City <br />sewer backup on Sunday, wl'iich affected eight homes on Sycamore Circle <br />including his own. He thanked Public Works Director Tom Phare for coming to <br />the neighborhood and explaining the situation. He noted only one of eight homes <br />had a special provision on thE~ir insurance to cover the damages. He wondered <br />what the City could do to prevent sewer backups. He stated the City will provide <br />a reimbursement of $3,500 per household, but explained the cleanup involves <br />ripping out carpets, molding, cleaning drywall and renting portable driveway <br />storage units for his basement contents. <br />On behalf of the Council and City Staff, Mayor Sisk extended his deepest regrets <br />to Mr. Grinbergs and his neighbors for the sewer backup. He stated City <br />Manager Fleming would address what preventative measures the City will take to <br />address sewer backup problE;ms. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br />Mayor Sisk announced there will be a joint meeting with the City Council and the <br />Boulder Valley School District Board of Education, on Wednesday, May 7th at the <br />Louisville Middle School, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., in the auditorium. <br />Councilor Yarnell thanked thE; Louisville Fire Protection District for supporting a <br />young citizen in an epilepsy vvalk. <br />CIl'Y MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming extended his sympathy to the home owners on West <br />Sycamore Circle and explained the problem was identified as tree roots invading <br />the sewer system, and blocking the sewer line, which affected about eight <br />homes. The City is supplying equipment to remove the debris and, under the <br />City's current policy could provide up to $3,500 per household to assist in the <br />cleanup. He noted the City will be reviewing maintenance records to explore <br />measures to eliminate such ~-roblems, investigating whether more frequent <br />monitoring of the sewer system with cameras is warranted, and evaluating what <br />changes might be necessary to the City's policies. <br />
