Ramos <br />jramosassoc@mindspring.com <br />303-679-8700 <br />DESCRIPTION OF PROCESS <br />On July 14, 2017, June Ramos, Consultant, was contracted by City Council who wanted <br />to engage her services to obtain staff (internal) and community (citizens and Boards and <br />Commission members) input to identify key characteristics for hiring the future City <br />Manager. The result of this process will aid the Council in formulating their position <br />description and interview questions during the recruitment and hiring process of the <br />new manager, working collaboratively with the selected executive search firm, Novak <br />Consulting. <br />Ramos worked closely with Kathleen Hix, the HR Director for the City (and greatly <br />appreciated the significant assistance of Kathleen). Kathleen assisted in the scheduling, <br />marketing and communication, logistics, etc., to reach potential participants. The <br />interview schedule was coordinated and completed — see APPENDIXA for the detailed <br />calendar schedule and method of communicating and marketing the sessions. <br />Total numbers of individuals who participated in the process are listed below: <br />1. Staff <br />a. Department Directors = 7 plus Heather (Interim City Manager) <br />b. Mid-level Managers = 11 <br />c. General Staff Members— all levels = 22 <br />2. Boards and Commission Members—two sessions = 11 <br />3. General Residents — two sessions = 14 <br />4. Louisville Farmers Market* —18 residents; 5 neighboring residents <br />5. Engage Louisville website** — 2 responses <br />• See APPENDIX C for responses obtained during the Farmer's Market <br />• See APPENDIX D for responses obtained from the Engage Louisville website <br />GENERAL OBSERVATIONS <br />Unfortunately the total number of residents/individuals who participated was below the <br />anticipated number that was expected. We are unsure of the exact reason, but surmised <br />4 <br />
