ILA i <br />Louisville <br />City Council <br />Legal Review Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 11, 2016 <br />City Hall <br />749 Main Street <br />4:00 PM <br />CaII to Order — Chairperson Leh called the meeting to order at 4 PM. <br />Roll CaII: The following members were present: <br />Committee Members: Chris Leh, City Council <br />Jeff Lipton, Mayor Pro Tem <br />Sue Loo, City Council (arrived 4:22) <br />Staff Present: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager <br />Heather Balser, Deputy City Manager <br />Sam Light, City Attorney <br />Dave Hayes <br />Rob Zuccaro, Planning Director <br />Meredyth Muth, City Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM MARCH 16, 2016 <br />The minutes were approved as presented. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />None. <br />DISCUSSION — SHORT-TERM RENTALS <br />Director Zuccaro gave some background on what the code currently allows. He <br />noted rentals for less than 30 days are not allowed with some exceptions for <br />boarding and lodging houses which have their own set of rules. Some cities have <br />changed their rules to address taxing issues. <br />Councilmember Leh noted options: Option 1, update the code to directly address <br />the issue. This would require a tabor vote and is difficult to enforce.
