4/17/84
Page -9-
Motion to Support R.T.D. Councilwoman Morris moved, Councilwoman
Park and Ride Johnson seconded that the Louisville City
Council support the R.T.D. facility located
soui;.h of US 36, west of McCaslin Blvd.
nortth of Highway 170 Question called for.
All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
R.E. TROUSIL - WATER TAP Councilmembers had a copy of the request
REQUEST from Richard Silverstein, the attorney
representing Mr. R. E. Trousil and Co.
Richard Silverstein Mr. Silverstein introduced himself and stated
1515 Arapahoe St., Denver that he represented R. E. Trousil Co.
'I'he company was asking for a water tap
located at the intersection of Highway 42
and Empire Road. The property was within
the urban service area adjacent to the
City shops. There are two water mains -
one is 200' north of the property and one
is 75' south. of the property. The city
provides service to all of the area surround-
ing the property. The amount of water that
would be used for the tap would be equivalent
to the single family or two single family dwellings
nothing more than that. The most important
concern is that in case of a fire - this is
a paint manufacturing business- is the pro-
tection and well being of the fire fighters.
They had talked with Fire Marshall Dhieux
and. he supports their request for a water
taps. He had indicated that he would be present
but: was unable to do so. .He reiterated the
most important issue was for the protection
of the fire fighters in case of a fire. The
wager tap would permit a sprinkler system
to be installed, which is what Mr. Trousil
wants to put in. He can operate without it
bui~ it seems appropriate to have a system
whE.re the entire facility can be sprinkled,
and in this case a water tap is needed.
It was their belief that for the past 10-11
years the City's plan has indicated that
the area would be industrial. In the County
the zoning is consistent with what -t~i~-~t~l~as
proposed for that area. The issue of grant-
ing a tap outside the City limits - Mr. Trou-
sil lives adjacent to the City of Louisville
and in 1978 he has had the invitation from
the City to obtain sewer and water taps,
and has purchased the taps. Therefore it
was not an inconsistency for the City to
provide taps to properties outside the
