1/17'/84 <br />Page -5- <br />r.~cess Mayor Meier inquired if there would be any <br />future further access to Pine 5t. <br />Director Rupp advised that the proposed plan <br />that. they are looking at will view the whole <br />transportation network and will rarovid®~other <br />streets and acesses. <br />Fire District Sub-station Cour.~cilwoman Morris inquired if we had any <br />more' information as to where the Fire District <br />sub-•station will be located. <br />DirE~ctor Rupp advised that at one time were <br />looking at where Via Appia is very close to <br />McCaslin under the new Homart plan near the <br />recreation site. <br />Mayor Meier commented it was his feeling that <br />the Fire District would wait until the Homart <br />rezoning question is final before they decide <br />on a site. <br />Councilwoman Morris felt that with all the <br />development that is happening on the "outskirts" <br />of -town,. the need for that sub-station is be- <br />coming more and more eminent. <br />Mr. Rupp advised that the Fire Department <br />wants it to be a training facility also. <br />:dicated Parcels to the City Councilman Woodson inquired if these locations <br />are dedicated to the City for the specific <br />purpose, in this case, as a site for a fire <br />station and. if so perpetrated to seat here <br />in changing the designation. <br />Administrator Wurl and Director Rupp advised <br />no - the land is dedicated to the City for <br />public use. <br />Proposed Housing and Density Councilman Woodson inquired if Council would <br />be considering the housing and density now, <br />or is that something that is resolved later. <br />Director Rupp advised tYiis,would come l~aer. The <br />application merely described the intent of <br />what we would like to do. As to the number <br />of units, etc. cost would have to be reviewed. <br />Cei°tainly part of the expression of the City's <br />po7Licy plan has been to find scattered housing <br />sii:es for the Housing Authority and that <br />was endorsed both by the Planning Commission <br />and City Council. The fact that the site <br />is owned by the City and would be used for <br />th<~t type of use shows to the Block Grant <br />with the State of Colorado that the City is <br />masking an attempt to provide a substantial <br />portion of the matching of the money by <br />dedication of land for that purpose. <br />
