1/3,/84 Page -11 -
Councilwoman Morris Stated that in their meeting with Scripps/
90 Day Grace Period How<~rd two weeks ago a 90 day introductory
on Package Premium Services period was discussed relative to changing
service, deciding what kind of service was
wanted, etc. free of charge. This evening
2 weeks was the time stated and she felt
there was a definite lack of communication.
Wished to have more reasoning behind the
specific increases, why they are happening
as quickly as they are, the difference in
pricing for Lafayette and Louisville.
Mr. Ferguson stated that Councilwoman Morris
was correct and they would honor the 90 day
gra~~e period as far as the packages were con-
cerned and that would be starting as of 1/4/84.
The service chance policy will be implemented
90 days from January 4, 1984.
Service to Westfield and Councilwoman Morris stated that Wesfield and
Saratoga Saratoga were to receive service now.
(Dagenois stated that they would be on line
in the next week or so). Councilwoman Morris
wished verification that the 90 day grace per-
iod for them would be from the time of installa-
tion.
Mr. Ferguson .stated that they are not trying to
implement and .make profit on service changes
and had no intention of charging $10.00 for
adding a service if its 50, or 89 days from now.
Councilwoman Morris reiterated that she
wished more specifics - exact dates for waiv-
ing the service fees for add-ons as well as
the free remote control device.
Mr. Ferguson stated that 90 days would be the
absolute minimum free of charge; they will
be able to up, down, laterally change. As
soon as it is turned on tomorrow they can view
all. of the new services, then if they decide
to take 5 of the 7 premium services or what-
ever, then in the next month to drop them,
this could be done without charge. Scripps/
Howard reserves the right to extend that time.
Package Pricing Mr. Ferguson stated that the package pricing
woL~ld explained to everyone person to person.
He then distributed a few copies of the channel
line-up. He then read the basic services that
were available to everyone for $7.50 per month.
Mr.. Ferguson also distributed booklets of the
program schedule listing the new channels.
