SUBJECT: 2018 RECOMMENDED BUDGET AND 2018-2021 LONG-TERM PLAN <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 26, 2017 <br />PAGE 23 OF 24 <br />2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 <br />® Revenue — Expenditures MN= Fund Balance —Target —Minimum <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Staff recommends that City Council set a public hearing for October 17, 2017 for <br />presentation and discussion of the 2018 Operating & Capital Budget. <br />In addition, staff is seeking discussion/direction on the following items in preparation for <br />the budget public hearing on October 17, 2017: <br />A) Approval of revenue and expense assumptions and overall additions to the 2018 <br />budget as recommended by staff while addressing any possible changes to the <br />General Fund mil levy calculations. <br />B) Approval of staff's recommendations with any adjustments to address the funding <br />shortfall for the Recreations/Senior Center and Memory Square Pool renovation <br />and expansion. <br />C) Approval of staff's recommendations regarding the Open Space and Parks Fund <br />Reserve Policy changes or any further adjustments/alternative scenarios. <br />Finance Committee discussed all these issues and suggested the alternative scenarios <br />in addition to staff's recommendations for consideration by the full City Council. <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION <br />24 <br />
