Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
July 17, 2017
Page 9of11
Koertje asks for a motion for Option 1 with the following recommendations to CC:
1. Ability to integrate the cabins into the City in terms of programming and visually seeing
them on a daily basis.
2. Renovate the interior and exterior of Cabin #1 at John Breaux.
3. Obtain insight regarding the Highway 42 location since the intersection design is not
completely.
4. Gain input from Public Works so Cabin #2 can integrate with the design for Highway 42
renovation.
5. Retain cabins in the Miners Field neighborhood.
6. Relocation would be closer than Option 2 resulting in less str s on structures and would
be less expensive.
7. Do not temporarily store at Public Works. HPC prefers one move of the cabins, not two
moves.
Cyndi Thomas makes a motion to approve Option 1 In, Fahey ss. Roll call vote.
Name
Vote
Lynda Haley
n/a
Mike Koertje
Yes
Debbie Fahey
Yes
Cyndi Thomas
Yes
Chuck Thomas
n/a
Caleb Dickinson
Yes
Michael Ulm
Yes
Motion passed/failed:
Pass
Motion passes 5-0.
Discussion/Direction/Action — Historic Ta Cre
Trice presents a letter that was distributed to the Commissid . This is a letter that the
National Trust has been circulating regarding the Federal Historic Tax Credit. This is something
the HPC can choose to sign onto in support of the continuance of the Federal Historic Tax
Credit program. There are a lot of other Colorado organizations that are signing onto it.
Koertje says I read the letter and I think it certainly fits within our goals. It is something we
should support and sign.
Fahey makes a motion that the HPC sign onto the Federal Historic Tax Credit Letter, seconded
by Dickinson. The letter you
have before you is a bit different than the one included in the packet. I made clarifying notes on
the recommendations, to make sure it is clear to CC. CC is discussing water tap fees at their
August 1 meeting, so this will go to them in that packet if the HPC decides to move it forward.
