Discussion/Direction/Action — Miners Cabins Locations Trice presents. City Council has decided to acquire the Miners Cabins, relocate them, and rehabilitate them. It was decided on June 6, 2017. CC has asked Staff to explore some additional location options which will be discussed at the CC meeting on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. CC would like a recommendation from HPC as part of that discussion. Option 1: Locate Cabin #1 at John Breaux Park in the NE corner. Some issues with the park are it is already a designed plaza. There are utilities running underneath. It would need to be worked through with Public Works. Cabin #2 would be located at Highway 42 and Pine Street. This location is trickier for the public to access based on the busy intersection.
