Louisville City Council Meeting <br />July 6, 2004 <br />Page 3 of 10 <br /> <br />Council member Keany concurred with Mr. Costello's comments. <br /> <br />Council member Brown also concurred, but noted there is no established policy and he <br />would support the contribution. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Recreation & Senior Services Director Keith Williams if the City <br />already supports the team. Williams stated the City co-sponsors the team. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk agreed with Council member Brown, and supported a contribution. <br /> <br />Council member Keany asked if other city sponsored teams, such as swimming and <br />gymnastics, would advance to finals, would the City be asked to contribute to defray their <br />expenses. Williams stated the City sponsors swimming and gymnastics and if a team <br />were to advance to the finals, the City would pay for the coachong staff's expenses. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved that Council contribute $500 to the 11 & <br />Under Louisville Pirates Junior Baseball team, seconded by Council member Levihn. <br />Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 4-1. Council member Keany <br />voted no. Council members Van Pelt and Clabots were absent. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF BOULDER COUNTY CONSORTIUM OF CITIES/BOULDER <br />COUNTY CIVIC FORUM HOUSING NEEDS ASSESSMENT FUNDING <br />REQUEST <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested Council member Brown make a presentation. <br /> <br />Council member Brown explained the Consortium of Cities in cooperation with the <br />Boulder County Civic Forum has outlined a number of actions they would like to see take <br />place over the next few years to consider affordable housing opportunities from a more <br />regional perspective. The end result of such analysis may be the ability of the County to <br />directly receive federal dollars for such programming. The Consortium is requesting <br />Louisville pay $3,490, which would cover the cost of the needs assessment, and <br />additional survey research. The allocation is calculated based on population. <br /> <br />Frank Alexander, Boulder County Housing Authority, reviewed the County Consortium <br />of Cities/Boulder County Civic Forum Housing needs assessment funding request. <br />He stressed the importance of each municipality approving the needs assessment. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved for approval of the 2004 funding request of <br />$3,490 for Louisville's pro rata share of the Boulder County Consortium of Cities/ <br />Boulder County Civic Forum Regional Affordable Housing Initiative, seconded by <br />Council member Marsella. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 5-0. <br />Council member Van Pelt and Clabots were absent. <br /> <br /> <br />
