Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Sept. 21, 2017 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />has selected the movies. He and Tammy will devise a press release <br />soon. The two movies are comedies related to Veteran's Day. <br />• Boulder Chorale (Liz) on 11/12 — The singing group is booked plus a <br />pianist. Liz showed a flyer that shows the Chorale's 2017-2018 season. <br />• Stories on Stage ("Sing For Your Life") on 9/28 — Sean said that the <br />contract is signed and both the council and Stories on Stage have been <br />advertising for it. The council discussed the set-up of the stage and light <br />arrangement. <br />• Edwina the Great and her Amazing Traveling Flea Circus on 10/07 — Katie <br />said it is only a 40 -minute show put on by the Public Works Theater Co. <br />Winter Season Update — Debbie and Jennifer said they would start on planning <br />this programming. <br />Proposed questions for board & commission applicants — The council took a <br />look at a printed memorandum showing possible questions and were urged to <br />give other suggestions by Monday 9/25. <br />Staff Update — Katie provided a summary: 1) no new artwork is planned for the <br />expanded rec center; 2) the non-profit policy passed and will be in place for Jan. <br />1, 2018; 3) rumors about Amazon coming to Louisville are floating around, and in <br />fact, the city will be making an official pitch to draw the company here. <br />Meanwhile, the city is hoping to interview people for the City Manager position in <br />November. <br />Chair's Report (Jennifer) — 1) the LCC will be getting some sort of a check from <br />the SCFD and the ceremony will be on Oct. 17 5:30-7:00 pm at the Boulder <br />Jewish Community Center; 2) because of her new job that includes traveling out <br />of state, Jennifer will have to rely on Blake and others to help lead while she is <br />occasionally away. <br />Adjourn — The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm. <br />-- For review -- <br />
