L <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • S1NC N ; <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION <br />AGENDA ITEM 11 <br />SUBJECT: <br />DATE: <br />DISCUSSION — TWO-YEAR SUSTAINABILITY WORK PLAN <br />OCTOBER 24, 2017 <br />PRESENTED BY: ERIKA ARCHER, SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST <br />SUMMARY: <br />In November 2016, City Council approved the Louisville Sustainability Action Plan <br />(SAP), developed by the Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board (LSAB). The SAP <br />addresses five sustainability categories: Climate & Energy, Water, Transportation, <br />Waste, and Local Food and Agriculture. The SAP expresses the desires of the City to <br />make progress towards sustainability, both internally in the operations of the City <br />facilities, and externally through the actions of the Louisville residential and business <br />community. Intended as a supplement to the SAP, the 2 -Year Work Plan measures the <br />City's progress in accomplishing the 57 strategies identified in the SAP and establishes <br />recommended actions for continuing the City's progress and achieving these goals. The <br />recommended actions from the 2 -Year Work Plan have been prioritized based on <br />several factors, including stakeholders, timeframe estimate, funding and importance. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None at this time. While many budget estimates are provided, future funding requests <br />associated with the recommended actions from the 2 -Year Work Plan will be brought to <br />City Council for discussion and approval separately. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Staff is seeking input from City Council on the work Plan and proposed <br />recommendations. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.
