City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 17, 2017 <br />Page 2 of 15 <br />Mayor Muckle called for changes to the agenda and hearing none, moved to approve <br />the agenda with moving item 8B to first on the agenda, seconded by Councilmember <br />Stolzmann. All were in favor <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Julia Knearl, 946 W. Alder Street, asked Council to address the speed at which people <br />travel on Alder Street and a recent accident. She noted many people cut through on <br />Alder Street. There was a recent accident where someone going 40-45 miles per hour <br />rolled his vehicle and hit a parked car. Thankfully, the driver will be okay, no one was on <br />the street, and no children were in the area. She requested Council and staff consider <br />active speed mitigation on this street. Neighbors have expressed a willingness to <br />participate in the process and even help pay for changes to the street to make it safer <br />Dave Ireland, 2358 Park Lane, board member of Sister Carmen Community Center, <br />stopped by to thank Council for their continued support. 984 families in Louisville <br />availed themselves of services in the last year They serve Louisville as well as the rest <br />of East Boulder County. They offer the thrift store, the food bank, nutritional and healthy <br />living programs, individual and family advocacy, financial assistance and help with <br />medical or child care. Mr. Ireland thanked Louisville for the $4000 grant for utility bills <br />and $5000 for the general fund in 2017 Next year is the 40 -year anniversary of Sister <br />Carmen, and the goal is to pay off the mortgage of their building They rely on the <br />generosity of the community to get work done. <br />APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />Mayor Muckle commented on item E, the review committee for board and commission <br />applications will be Councilmember Keany and Councilmember Stolzmann and <br />everyone is welcome to contribute to the conversation Councilmember Maloney asked <br />when the rest of Council could get applications City Clerk Muth noted she would send <br />out the applications to members of Council when she sends them to the review <br />committee; likely mid-November <br />MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved to approve the consent agenda, seconded by <br />Councilmember Loo All were in favor. <br />A.
