Louisville City Council Meeting
December 21, 2004
CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

City Manager Simmons requested Staff reports.

Public Works Director Tom Phare reported on new pedestrian crossing signs on Cherry
Street, which will be operational 24-hours per day.

Planning Director Paul Wood reported on the citywide comprehensive plan. Council
member Brown commended Staff for meeting the schedule for the completion of the
comprehensive plan. Council member Keany asked for a report on the roofing
inspections. Wood stated that over two hundred inspections were made over the past few
week-ends.

Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations Heather Balser reported on a letter
received from the Housing Authority with respect to the South Boulder Road site. Based
on a number of issues, which would drive the cost up per unit, they have decided not to
build affordable housing on that site. She updated Council on two scheduled meeting
dates: January 4, 2005 - Legislative breakfast at 7:00 a.m., at the Arts & Humanities
Building and January 20, 2005 - Public Meeting for the ComCast Cable TV Franchise
Agreement renewal.

City Clerk Nancy Varra reported she was notified by the Boulder County Clerk &
Recorder's Office relative to the cost of the 2004 coordinated election. Louisville's share
of the election is $16,000. She noted that $12,000 was budgeted for 2004.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS

Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd reported on tentative agenda items for the January 4,
2005 City Council meeting. Consent agenda items include notice of agenda postings, and
a resolution adopting changes to the benefits plan. On the regular agenda, a Planning
Commission Item - Waldman Final Plat & PUD, and Louisville Resource Conservation
Board Grant Application for zero waste events.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Council member Keany wished everyone a Happy Holiday season.

Mayor Sisk visited Council member Clabots at the Mapleton Rehabilitation Center. He
reported Clabots is in good spirits and thankful for those who visited him while he was in
the hospital. Council member Clabots hopes to attend the January 4, 2005 City Council
meeting.

Council member Keany reported that Bonfils will be doing a blood drive at Avista
Hospital on December 29. This is a replenishment of blood supplies, and Council
member Clabots wishes to extend his support of the blood drive. Mayor Sisk thanked
Council member Keany and Mrs. Keany for taking the lead on the blood drive.
