Keith and Nancy both noted how much more they liked the <br />revised design. Paula and Nancy noted that the Roybal firm has listened to the <br />comments they received in the summer. Several Commission members said that <br />they particularly like the ADA solutions that Roybal has proposed for the new <br />building and the look of the proposed rusticated wood facade in the redesign. <br />B. Presentation by the Roybal firm at City Council meeting — Dec. 5, 2017, 7 <br />PM: Commission members are encouraged to attend the City Council presentation <br />on Dec. 5th <br />VIII. Final selection of Pioneer Award recipient, to be presented January 2018: <br />A. Pioneer Award selection: The Commission selected Don Buffo to be the recipient of <br />the Pioneer award to be presented at the Chamber of Commerce Dinner in January. <br />B. Confirmation of Commission member to present the award this year and to help <br />write the Pioneer Award piece based on this recipient for the next Louisville <br />Historian: Paula offered to present the award and help Bridget with the piece for <br />the Louisville Historian. <br />IX. Chairperson's Report — including updates on Commission member discussions with <br />City Council members: Dan noted that the consultants hired by the Louisville History <br />Foundation to conduct a feasibility study for a capital campaign for a new Museum & Visitor <br />Center building are in the process of meeting with City Council members, Commission <br />members, and other stakeholders. Commission members who have had discussions with <br />City Council members to discuss the plans for the Museum and to seek their feedback gave <br />short updates. Dan also brought up the Oct. 12th event to celebrate the issues of the <br />Louisville Times being digitized and being made accessible online at the Colorado Historic <br />Newspapers Collection website, thanks to funding by the City of Louisville. <br />X. Items of common interest with the Historic Preservation Commission: reports from <br />HPC liaison to HC and HC liaison to HPC: Historic Preservation Commission member Chuck <br />Thomas reported on recent activities of the HPC. <br />XI. Louisville History Foundation update: Paula reported that the Foundation has been working <br />on the feasibility study for a capital campaign and planning for the Parade of Lights, when <br />the Foundation will sponsor the treat bags to give out. <br />XII.
